Today's Primitive Home

OH WOW what a honor ! Today’s Primitive Home has featured one of my checkerboards. If you have not seen this website, it is a great one to check out.

Our editorials are intended to be humorous and encourage our readers to visit TPH often to see our “Latest Picks”. Readers are given the opportunity to view examples of our favorite Artists’ work and purchase featured or similar items directly from the Artist’s website/blog through the links provided for them in our editorials. After two weeks, items featured on our home page are archived under “Prims We Loved” so that readers may still access a link to your website/blog or Etsy store. Archived items remain posted for 30-45 days.
Our mission is to support the tradition of handcrafted American Folk Art and Handcrafts and to encourage Internet shoppers to consider purchasing unique, handmade, and one-of-a-kind type items from American artists, as opposed to purchasing foreign mass-produced items.

Thanks ~Today's Primitive Homes ~ for choosing me as a featured artist ! ♥

Bart say's "we gonna party like it's 1999" !

Looks like Bart could be singing something.
He was soaking in some rays this morning and as I approached him I could hear him snoring. So I run in to get my camera, slowly start to sneak up on him to get some shots then Goldie & Biscuit run up and wake him & just ruin my kodak moment!
Anyway he is sharing a great big yawn, looks like he could use a bit of flossing huh ? ;) Bart gets that nose from Mr. GoldieLoo's side of the family;)) heheheeee

Merry Christmas

I'm sure most of you are like myself and very busy getting ready for Christmas day. Wow, I cannot believe it got here so fast. Mr. GoldieLoo & myself would like to wish everyone a safe, healthy & happy Christmas.

Christmas Long Ago
A Christmas Poem by Jo Geis

Frosty days and ice-still nights,
Fir trees trimmed with tiny lights,
Sound of sleigh bells in the snow,
That was Christmas long ago.

Tykes on sleds and shouts of glee,
Icy-window filigree,
Sugarplums and candle glow,
Part of Christmas long ago.

Footsteps stealthy on the stair,
Sweet-voiced carols in the air,
Stocking hanging in a row,
Tell of Christmas long ago.

Starry nights so still and blue,
Good friends calling out to you,
Life, so fact, will always slow...
For dreams of Christmas long ago.

No matter what you think about the man, this is FUNNY!

The kindness of Strangers♥

Thanks to the kindness of strangers my friend has a Christmas tree. My ole buddy Marsha, we have been the best of friends since grade school, she knows more dirt on me than probably anyone, so I have to be really nice to her. ;);)
Have you ever heard the saying "if it weren't for bad luck I would have no luck at all" ? Well that's Marsha, she was down in the dumps a few weeks ago from meeting yet another looser(man), my advice to her was go get your tree and decorations, put on some Christmas music and decorate, forget about men ! So she decided to take me up on my advice, she gets the key to the storage building and goes to get her stuff, opens the door and everything was gone! Yep all gone ! Her landlord had sold his business including the storage building and put everything in a yard sale without telling her abut it. Bless her heart, you can imagine how devastated she was, everything she had collected or that was given or made for her over the years was gone.

I was telling my fellow TDIPT sisters about this and several of them wanted to share some of their ornies with her. Marsha was so thrilled by the kindness of people she has never met not to mention the fantastic ornies she received. Between the ornies from some of TDIPT gals, some of Marsha's other friends and myself she now has a tree and its full of ornies plus decorations for the house.
***********************
To my TDIPT sisters who sent Christmas ornies and decor to Marsha THANK YOU very much ! Your the best !♥

Christmas 1969

♥Merry Christmas with the Holder's 1969♥
See the kid with the really big mouth ? That's me & not much has changed. ;) It was 1969 and I was 4 years old. That's my brother Danny, sister Sharon & my mom Dot along with me.This was one of my most fond memories of Christmas, getting a doll house. That may have been the best Christmas ever. My dad was self employed, he had a TV/Appliance business where he sold and did repair work. It was a good year for him that year and I remember we got everything we had asked for. I was soooo thrilled with my new dolly and doll house. I must have played with it for years & years. I was happy for my older brother & sister because they got just what they wanted too. And I loved playing with my brothers new Fort Apache set, we played with it for hours & hours. I remember mom got that pink house coat she is wearing and I was so happy for her. When dad took the picture I can remember him telling us to smile big so & as you can see we did so, I thought since I was lucky enough to get so many wonderful gifts I could at least repay him with the biggest smile I could muster up, I do believe had my tongue not been in the way you could see my tonsils !
Thanks Dad & Mom for giving us kids such a warm, loving and very Merry Christmas in 1969 and every year ! Love yall !
Oh, my bangs ? I had a fetish with scissors and cut my hair every chance I could get !
